Rev. Bill Heller

Rev. Bill Heller

We Welcome Our New Minister

The Rev. William Heller is an ordained Unity minister, committed to deepening and sharing his spiritual journey through teaching, writing and spiritual counseling. Bill’s formal training was in corporate finance, leading to a 30-year career, primarily in Silicon Valley. Midway through, Bill had an awakening experience, which led to a redirection in his life toward spiritual awakening. Within two years of that experience, Bill found the teachings of A Course in Miracles and Unity as his path. Fifteen years later, he entered the Unity Institute of Spirituality’s ministry program, and was ordained in 2009. He has served in ministry at Unity churches in New England and Virginia. He is the author, with Paul Hasselbeck, of Unity and A Course in Miracles: Understanding Their Common Path to Spiritual Awakening, published in 2016. Rev. Bill will be formally installed as our minister during the 10 a.m. service on Sunday, March 5. A catered lunch will follow.

yogaYoga Classes

Unity Yoga, Mondays, 5:30-6:45 p.m.
Chair Yoga, Thursdays, 10-11:30 a.m.

The yoga that is practiced here is of the VINIYOGA tradition. In Viniyoga, the asanas (postures) are approached with an understanding of the individual body’s unique condition, structural needs and capabilities. We are each very different and our bodies move and respond in different ways. Principles of adaptation are relied upon extensively. We always begin wherever we are and carefully, slowly adjust our practice to meet our individual and evolving needs. Check our Calendar for more information about yoga classes.

rocksA Course in Miracles
Wednesdays, 1 p.m.
“Nothing real can be threatened, nothing unreal exists. Herein lies the peace of God.” These simple words sum up the meaning of A Course in Miracles, according to its own Preface. But unraveling the meaning of those “simple” words is the challenge. First of all, the Course reinterprets many Biblical concepts you are familiar with: creation, original sin, atonement, crucifixion, resurrection, etc. Then it redefines words you use every day: love, relationships, ego, reality, perception, etc. And it does all this in beautiful blank verse, with inspiring metaphysical ideas that stretch your imagination and dare you to comprehend.
